Itinerary:
Day 01 Arrive Beijing
Arrive in Beijing by air. Upon arrival, CITS meet / transfer to International Hotel Beijing (5-star) for overnight with breakfast. Balance of the day free.
Day 02 BEIJING / URUMQI (B, D)
CITS transfer to airport for your flight Beiing - Urumqi by flight, the capital city of Xingjiang Autonomous Region. Upon arrival, meet / transfer to Hoi Tak Hotel Urumqi for 2 nights with daily breakfast. Afternoon city yout including the Xijiang Museum. The Museum features several fine exhibitions. Among them there is a collection of Mummies excavated throughout Xinjiang and spanning more than 3000 years of history. Also included is the Red Hill Park.
Day 03 URUMQI / TIANCHI LAKE / URUMQI (B, L, D)
Full-day tour to Sightsee the Tianshan Mountain with a short cruise on the Tianchi (Lake of Heaven). Return to Urumqi later today. The round-trip coach ride is about 4 hours.
Day 04 Urumqi / Kashgar (B. L. D) Check out and CITS transfer to Urumqi Airport. Depart Urumqi for Kashgar by flight. Upon arrival in Kashigar, local guide to meet / transfer you to Barony Hotel K ashgar for overnight. City tour in the afternoon: visit Mor Pagoda (3rd Century earliest Buddhist pagoda in China) and also tour Kah Mosque with its dome and minarets.
Day 05 Karshgar / Urumqi (B L D)
Morning tour and sightseeing: Walk along the street of Craftsmen including musical instrument, jeweleries and gold products. Visit Kashgar Bazaar, tombs of the Fragrant Concubine and the Old town of Kashgar. In your leisure time, probably you would like to try the "local taxi", a kind of carts pulled by donkeys. Take return flight back to Urumqi in late afternoon. Upon arrival, local guide to meet / transfer to back to the Hoi Tak Hotel Urumqi for overnight.
Day 06 Urumqi / Turpan (B, L, D) This morning, check out and you drive along the ancient Silk Road across the Heavenly Mount to Turpan ¨C an oasis surrounded by desert and dry mountains. Upon arrival, we visit the mysterious ruins of Jiaohe city (UNECO), which reveals traces of a prosperous ancient trading center and military base sixteen-hundred years ago. Overnight at OASIS HOTEL (best standard hotel)
Day 07 Turpan / Dunhuang (B, L, D) Full-day sightseeing in Turpan: visit Karez, its underground water supply and irrigation system (UNESCO), and its museum. Turpan is famous throughout China for its large, sweet grapes and gourds, so we will visit the grape valley and enjoy fruits there. Also tour the Sugong Pagoda, the Flaming Mountain, Bezeklik Thousand Buddha Grottoes, and lunch with a local family. Tonight, transfer to Turpan Railway Station to board the overnight train to Dunhuang (soft-sleepers).
Day 08 Dunhuang (B, L, D) Upon arrival in Dunhuang in the morning, local guide to meet / transfer to full-day sightseeing: You will enjoy seeing the most renowned historical and religious sites -- Mogao Grottos, one of the wonders of ancient Chinese civilization on the Silk Road. Tonight, you stay at International Hotel Dunhuang (VIP Wing) with breakfast for 2 nights . CITS books room with daily breakfast.
Day 09 Dunhuang (B L,D)
Full-day tour and sightseeing: Visit Yumen Pass (Jade Gate Pass), plus local Dunhuang Museum, Singing Sand Dunes and Crescent Moon Lake. Ride a camel and enjoy marvelous sunset.
Day 10 Dunhuang / Xian (B, L)
Check out and transfer to Dunhuang Airport. Depart Dunhuang for Xian by air. Upon arrival in Xian, local CITS guide to meet / transfer you to Garden Hotel Xian for 2 nights with daily breakfast. City tour this afternoon: Ancient City Wall / Bell Tower and Muslim quarters of the city.
Day 11 Xi'an (B, L)
One of the largest and wealthiest cities in the world when China dominated the silk trade, Xi'an today is an archaeological treasure-trove. Sightseeing begins with a visit to the Dayan Pagoda, built in 652 AD. In 1974, the Tomb of China's first emperor, Qin Shi Huangdi, was accidentally discovered by local farmers. Marvel at the legion of Terra-Cotta Warriors / Horses which have been guarding the burial site for 2,000 years.
Day 12 Xi'an / Shanghai (B, L)
Check out and transfer to Xian Airport. Depart Xian by flight to Shanghai, China's most populous city and center of trade and industry. Upon arrival, local CITS guide to meet / transfer you to BROADWAY MANSIONS HOTEL SHANGHAI for 3 nights with daily breakfast. Afternoon city tour in Shanghai. You may visit the World Expo 2010 to be held in Shanghai May 01 - Oct 31, 2010.
Day 13 Shanghai (B, L, D)
Full day of sightseeing. Stroll along the Bund, the city's riverfront boulevard lined with historic buildings, housing, banks, and trade houses. You'll visit the Shanghai Museum and, one of the best museums in china and experience the famous Yu Yuan Garden and Temple of City Godess. Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant. Enjoy the famed Shanghai Acrobatic show tonight following dinner.
Day 14 Shanghai / Suzhou / Shanghai (B, L)
Depart Shanghai for Suzhou by express train (one hour). Upon arrival, meet / transfer by local tour guide for full-day sightseeing: Garden of Master Nets, Grand Canal (with a ride), Silk Factory and Tiger Hill. Return to Shanghai by express train in late afternoon. Upon arrvial, meet / transfer back to your hotel .
Day 15 Shanghai / Home (B)
Check out and CITS guide to t ransfer you to Shangai Pudong Airport. Depart Shanghai for home by air. End of China tour.
